Small but fun.
We had difficulty getting in with our US passports and CDC cards. They made us go to a pharamcy and get the German QR code. This happened nowhere else on our visit to Germany and clearly violates the German rules (which a different pharamcy gave us a copy of). So if you are a US citizen, just know you may have some hassle getting in.
Once in, it was fun trip down memory lane. I got to see if I am still any good at Space Invaders, which I used to be great at. Spoiler alert: I'm not!
Many old (now free after you pay your admission) computer and video games to play. Fun for a couple of hours. Children will enjoy it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 2021年9月16日
The idea of the place sounds kindof dumb, but it's pretty well presented. Not the greatest descriptions of everything, but they have a good collection of games from the beginning of the form, and a couple of fun surprises: some rare consoles from the GDR; old games you can play (such as the amazing Crazy Taxi); and exhibits of artistic indie games. Perfect for families of all ages, but this being Germany, they had one game for 18+ called the Painstation, where you could shock each other to see who can take it the longest. Wacky, wacky, wacky.

Nerd Alert! What a great museum for gamers! I'm so happy that I had visited here, it was really fun and educable. It brought back lots memories to me.
The museum itself is not huge but offers a lot interesting things to check out. You can see the pong game and of course play with it. Even I am a gamer, some of the stuff were still new to me. Hehe, I mean I never seen some of them. You can also see and read the different generations consoles from the very beginning to present. Beside reading and look around, of course you also can play a little. They have a classic game corner which allow you to play some old classic games and it's free.
The entrance ticket cost of this museum is really reasonable. There also a gift shop there right next to the entrance. It got some really cool and cute stuff inside. Definitely should check it out.
The thing is, I do hope the museum could be expanded, become bigger in the future. The idea is really cool, it got really lots of potentials, but they do need more different themes, it just too less going on inside the museum, there still some other things need to improve. I am not so sure is this a place for kids, but sure is the place for gamers and I'm sure will visit again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kifah A.柏林, 德國282383702015年10月19日
I Must admit At first I was first dissaponinted by the rather limited space here.
But as they say: God in the details....You need to look, then you find many cool details....From the earliest video games, to different play rooms built in 70s, 80s and 90s design (including the suitable video gaming equipment like playstation 1 or Sega Dreamcast). To the latest technology. All present.
Probably not a must see for Berlin visitors, but worth the time if you happen to have it.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gabi G.Downey, 美國011152019年3月2日
This place was so amazing! If you're a lover of vintage video games and wish to appreciate the advances made in the technology, this is the place for you. The location is smaller than I thought it would be, but it is jam packed with interactive experiences and artifacts!

You don't have to be a video game nerd--er, enthusiast--to have fun at this museum! Although I'm too young to be plunged into nostalgia by early Apples and Pacman and too old to get excited about Minecraft and Xbox, I enjoyed learning about video game therapy for veterans with PTSD and the DDR's thrilling contribution to video game culture with its "fill a bucket with water"-themed game. The gift shop is really just a glorified closet but filled with super cool gifts and trinkets--don't miss it!
Now for the complaints... Since this museum is really only one large room, the admission (8€ or 5€ reduced entrance for students, seniors, kids, etc.) isn't really a deal. Aside from the arcade, the exhibit is not really set up for groups: since the videos and some games are only meant for one person at a time, you may feel a bit isolated.
Just a warning: there's a giant joystick that you have to remove your shoes to use, and this place is packed with adolescent nerds, so it smells just as bad as you would expect. Still, despite the smell, the Computerspielemuseum is a fun place to spend a free afternoon!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nick S.Beverly, 美國71159319552013年7月18日
I have so many thoughts about this museum. In no particular order- it's a bit smaller than I imagined, it's hot as hades inside, the fact that there's 22 stations with TVs and joystick remotes that are actually only glorified VCRs is an evil misdirect and finally... the whole place is one of the funnest museums I've ever visited.
It's only 8 euros. They rotate the games bi-monthly. The main clerk was wearing a BSOD t-shirt. This is my place. These are my people. Go, and be nerdy.
If you're interested, July and August are all about motorcycle games. Yes, that means Excitebike and Road Rash.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mohammed G.柏林, 德國44437102016年2月14日
This is a nerd's heaven! Equally enjoyable by children and adults alike.
If you happen to be passionate gamer, or even just interested in Computing history, this place is a must see!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 653932018年1月7日
Brilliantly crafted storytelling of how every element of gaming came to be the way there are. Lots of stories, great interaction design and enough machinery to satisfy even the most demanding of geeks. Only downside is that the number of MAME arcades you can actually play doesn't really fill the need (hard to get to one). But other than that, highly recommendable.

To get the best out of it schedule a tour..to walk it alone is fun but a little hard to follow. If you are a tech/video game or comic nerd...it's a must see
