The Charter House pub

We had the Sunday roast with a party of 6
5had the beef and 1 had the triple, my wife who had problems with her hands had to ask for a steak knife to cut her beef and all of us complained about the knives being too blunt to cut butter.every one of us left the beef saying the meat was grizzley as a excuse.
The dessert we had asked for was the Knickerbocker glory as we had done a recci the week before and was told they had sold out so I asked that as we were booked in for a meal the next week would you have it then and the answer was probable,only to find that they were sold out again.
The staff were very friendly and the ambience was good

The Charter now it has been taken over is much nicer - from the staff to the food and the decor. I have been in there a couple of times before Xmas and enjoyed the couple of meals that i had. The menu ranges from Steaks, lasagna's to Fajita's and Curry (so a wide range).
If you want to go out for something of a good standard for not much money then this is a good shout.


I would recommend the Battered prawn Starter which was really tasty. The house Rose is also very nice (its a sweet Rose)

It is in a strange location as is on a very busy road outside of Aylesbury Town Centre on the way to Waddesdon. This doesn't stop it being quite busy on the weekends although I havent been in on a week night. The food offered is classic pub food and is okay. The staff were friendly when we were in there and it is a nice atmosphere. It is quite spacious inside and really nicely decorated with a very contemporary look.

This is a very spacious pub/restaurant which was refurbished about two years ago. It is clean and family friendly, but it is big enough to tuck yourself away in - you can have a whole room to yourself if you want! There is also space to sit outside. The food is very reasonable and nice as well. Staff are happy to help.


The car park is also very big and while it is situated right on a busy road, there isn't that many problems getting in and out.

Looks OK for somewhere to go on say a Fri night with friends or on your way to somewhere else. Spacious inside, not bad decor and the prices are reasonable.


Thats where my compliments end. The manageress was pretty rude What a charmer..I was planning to eat there but her barside PMT manner put me off and went elsewhere.


Wouldn't go back..plenty of nicer places where they treat you in a respectable way.

Booked table 1 month in advance , our party of 13 got there to be told there was no booking!! Not busy , so put table together for us. Service was absolutely terrible . Had to wait 1hr 15 mins before we got our meal . Not once did we get asked if all ok etc or did we want anything else.


Have sent an email of complaint to their Head Office . That was 2 weeks ago and I have still not heard a single thing from them either!
Not a very good service from their customer service department.
Very disappointed with it all .
