Was recommended before I wanted to have a fried port cutlet. But later found out the same restaurant name is located in Charlottenburg. It was quite and neat but as others said, the price is high. At least, 20 euro per person without drinks. The appetizer was provided for free, the eggplant. Was very tasty and also three dishes we had were all very very tasty. One man is making and I can see that he puts his soul into it. The servers were kind but did not understand my request for Gabel because I got spoon ;) but all was fine. The price is a bit steep because two adults and one kid- 80 euro +@ for tips came out.
Highly recommended if you have some guests but for normal dining, a bit pricy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marie B.新加坡, 新加坡96612012013年4月24日
The service was good and the waiter was very kind.... but that's literally where it ends. I was borderline disgusted when I ate here yesterday. My bf orderded the sushi Bento-box and and I ordered the salmon Bento box.
Sushi Bento box: Really bad. So bad, that my boyfriend immediately asked us to switch dishes before taking one bite. I obliged him, just because I was the one who was hard-pressed to eat sushi at a japanese restaurant that day. I love sushi and I could not eat more than 2 bites. The fish didn't look fresh and tasted too warm for my taste...(warm, raw fish? blah). Same with the two shrimp (with their heads still attached) that came with the box... not fresh, no taste... YUCK. The look of the shrimps made me a bit queasy (lack of freshness..not because of the heads...lol) and I wondered if I would have food poisoning later. Thankfully, that was not the case.
The "presentation" of the 4 pieces of sushi was terrible. It looked more like they patted down a layer of sushi rice in one part of the box, covered it with orange fish eggs, and then put 4 slices of not-so-fresh-fish (2 tuna, 2 salmon) on top of it. There was no form to the sushi...I couldn't even pick them up individually to eat with my chopsticks, because it was not properly formed...TERRIBLE. The maki rolls were fine. Nothing special at all.. They didn't even serve soy or any kind of dipping sauces with the food, we had to ask extra...and then there was no dish to put the soy sauce in... we kind of had to find a corner in the box to pour the sauce into. TERRIBLE.
Salmon Bento Box- Meh. Not bad, but not delicious. The fish was covered in panko crumbs and fried.... and pretty oily. The vegetable skewers were the same- breaded, fried and oily. As a "side sauce" we got one squirt of MAYO (Really?!? Am I at a Currywurst stand or a japanese imbiss/Restaurant?!)! I wasn't impressed, but at that point, my bf and I were starving and just sharing that one box for dinner, so we ate everything.
The jasmine tea and the Miso soup were good- you can't really screw that up.
Conclusion: I really wanted to like this place, but with so many better options in the city, there is no reason for me to risk making another expensive mistake here. (€20 for the both of us, to eat one "blah" dish?!? TERRIBLE!) I still give it 2 stars, because of the service and because the dishes some other people had looked pretty decent, for example the panko giant shrimps. I just could not honestly recommend this imbiss/Restaurant to anyone looking for good sushi, etc. The sushi list was in my opinion also quite limited (no Unagi/eel...my fave). Sigh...anyway... I'll def. stick to "Sy Restaurant", when it comes to Sushi on the Kantstraße.... The difference there is like night and day.... So much better...not even sure if the sushi chefs are japanese, as the restaurant is mostly Vietnamese, but regardless.... I don't discriminate. I've had better pizza made by turkish people. than italians.... so yeah....My palate is the boss and that's all I care about. :-)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mari M.柏林, 德國022017年8月11日
My favorite Japanese restaurant in Berlin. Tried many in Berlin, this one convinces me most, authentic food and atmosphere. Found it in 2014. Visit sporadically, prices are a bit on the higher side but the food is worth it. Chirashi sushi, various nigiri, samon teriyaki, tofu, oshinko is what i tried so far. All outstanding. Beautiful wooden interior and alcoves. I visited Japan several times and can say this place breathes authentic atmosphere. Seemingly a Japanese family business. Lovely owners, a gem in Berlin. Been there 1month ago last time.

A bit out of the way but worth the trip, literally amazing.
Chu Torro was better quality than I have eaten in Japan, they must have very good connections.
Overall quality is excellent though def not cheap, a place for a special treat.
Authentic and really, really great quality.
