Never been inside, but the architecture is amazing! It resembles a gladiator hat and honestly one of the buildings that you WILL see for sure if you're driving around the area. Palau de les Arts is actually an building for the arts where they perform Opera. Surprising eh? (wow, I'm so Canadian) You would expect something shaped like a Gladiator's hat to be a museum of History or even Sciences, but, it's for art.
Also close to this area are the oceanographic and the science and art museum.Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - 2011年6月9日
The most complex, intriguing, and beautiful building in the Ciudad is the Palau which houses four area for theater, opera, ballet, and concerts. Calatrava's largest masterpiece at first glance looks like an alien ship has just docked in the water. Spherical, plumed, and futuristic, it's a memento to the future of progressive architecture.

A must see destination stop, amazing architecture, photographic opportunity. Be prepared to walk alot, wear a good pair of walking shoes. Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia offers tours at 1100 and 1330 hours, well worth the admission price and time spent.

Fantastic surreal surroundings for this state of art science musuem. The entire comlpex is amazing and the stuctural engineering and architechure is worth a visit even if you do not wish to visit the museum but just wish to wander around the botantical gardens and opera house. Breathtaking particularly at dusk. Popular with Valencian bridal couples having photographs taken. The science museum has 5 floors and is very interactive. All the signs are in Spanish and English and the exhibits range from Marvel comics to assembling a model of the human brain.

This is a marvellous city within a city, a showplace of contemporary architecture by Calatrava.
There's something for everyone: a new opera house for the musically minded (and the fine old concert hall is almost opposite), an Imax cinema to thrill the family, the awesome science museum, the gardens around for walking and cycling, and last but not least, the Oceanografic, which is the largest aquarium in Europe and has regular dolphin shows to delight the children. Lots of moderately priced shops and restaurants nearby. Don't miss it, even if you're only in Valencia for a day.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Laura M.慕尼黑, 德國2312013年10月26日
