It's my mommy's bday shortly, and we want to take her to the best seafood spot around. Money isn't really a thang, nor is ambience really. I dont want a shithole, but really just about the freshest, best prepared oceanic grub love. itd b nice to impress cuz she is the best!
I wish thinkin maybe aquagrill in soho, but there's probably better. Ma loves salmon and sea bass. more about fish than about shellfish.
Help a cracker out!! thanks2009/6/17 -

Thanks for the list. any one in particular that is your favorite??
i know how to search for seafood- i've done it, but just looking for someone that might have a strong recommendation for a spot to make mommy happy.2009/6/17 -

i can't speak from firsthand experience, but my sister was at Le Bernardin for her boyfriend's birthday very recently and she was amazed. I was impressed considering she's no slouch when it comes to eating at good restaurants - she ranked it as one of the top 3 meals of her life.
That's not to like, raise expectations/set impossible standards or anything. But if I had the money to blow and since I trust her, I'd give Le Bernardin a go. Fine dining, so put your jacket on.2009/6/17 -

I'd say go for Blu Water Grill. I had one of my sis' bday dinners and it was great. Nice restaurant for a special occaision and decent prices for seafood.

Esca is a wonderful place for authentic Italian seafood. The tasting menu with wine pairing is very enjoyable. I am not sure why it doesn't have a Michelin star.
Now Le Bernardin has no less than 3 Michelin stars, and there can be no doubt in mind that it deserves all of them! Highly recommend like almost everyone else.
If you like sushi, I have gushed a bit in the past about Sushi Yasuda. It's the best I have ever had, and the prices are actually reasonable!
As for Mary's Fish Camp, I would say keep on walking. I was pretty disappointed there. Fish is much better and not nearly as well acclaimed.2009/6/17 -
